If you are asked politely "I apologize, I'm not sure if I be able to understand what you're asking What would you like to change?" Your communication will be better when you do this instead of talking in a rambling manner with no clearness or comprehension. Be aware that the main purpose of answering questions is to make a positive contribution to the person seeking answers. Be quick to respond. Seek understanding first.

One method that can increase your efficiency in responding to questions in a meaningful and objective way is if you allow the person asking the question time before asking. A few people take time to describe precisely what they want to know. The answer to a query before it is fully asked may seem to be disrespectful. It is not a good idea to assume you know what direction the question is headed, and you will need to assist to clarify the issue. If you're time-bound, let the person "ramble" while you note important details. It allows you to formulate and come up with how to best respond to the question. The ability to listen will give you a high percentage of success in your responses to questions.

You have to determine if you're qualified to answer that question or someone else is. Do you have the authority to speak about the subject (journalists may be in a position to sway you, even though you're not meant to be the company's spokesperson)? How deep should the answer be? Silence and breaks in the conversation demonstrate that you're not simply churning out whatever raw material you can think of in your mind, but a thought out answer is in the pipeline. You can actually make sure that the person you are expecting to hear to answer you by saying "Let me think about it ..., Let me think about it." ..". This means that the person will not sit around thinking you've missed something or you're just not listening,, etc. Also, thinking about it helps in coming up with suggestions which you'll regret about later. It is possible to identify the best method to respond with wisdom without leaving injuries or wounds that are not healed.
