The word "question" refers to a statement that asks for a reply or an answer. Everyday, there is a chance to get asked questions. Certain questions are open ended which require explanation, explanation and others, while some are closed and only require an answer of a yes or no. There are instances where people ask questions that do not require a reply but only to be heard (rhetoric inquiries). In the case in the question answer is required to answer what they are looking for in the first place. Many students fail their exams not because they're boring however, they fail to understand the questions being asked to them. The inability to express the question properly can result in an uninformed action or response. After the presentation, you should be satisfied when people ask questions. It could indicate that people were engaged by what you were presenting and that your program sparked interest in others. How you respond to questions will help improve the impression your audience has of you or increase their confidence about your product or service. As a professional you will have to master ways to pose relevant inquiries, but the most important thing is how to effectively respond to questions.

Before you decide to answer a question, make sure you're in a state of mind what the question is about. There's no harm in having a clear understanding of what is being asked. Try asking politely "I apologize, but I don't seem to be able to comprehend what you're asking Could you please clarify?" You'll have a better chance of communicating in such situations than talking in a rambling manner with no any clarity, or even understanding. The purpose behind answering questions is to make a positive contribution to the one who is in search of an answer. Do not waste time. Seek understanding first.

Another way to boost your effectiveness in answering questions in a meaningful and objective manner is when you give the person who is asking your question time to complete asking. Some people take their time to explain precisely what they want to know. Responding to a question after it is clearly asked for can be insensitive. It is not a good idea to assume you know exactly where the question is headed and must assist the individual in getting to the bottom of the matter. If you're on time allow the person to "ramble" while taking note of important elements. It also gives you time for you to think up the most effective answer to the question. The ability to listen provides you an impressive success rate for answering questions.

You need to decide if you're qualified to answer this question or someone else is. Does your license permit you to talk on the subject (journalists can be very threatening even if you're supposed to be a company spokesperson)? How long should your answer be? Pauses and moments of silence demonstrate that you're not just producing whatever materials you have in your mind, but a thought through answer is coming. You can prepare your audience member for an answer by telling them "Let me think ..., Let me know." ..". This will help the person not sit and wait thinking you've missed something that you're ignoring, etc. Thinking through also helps you to make statements that you'll be happy over later. You can determine the best method to respond with wisdom without leaving the marks of a wound or fresh ones.

Make sure you’re financially prepared. It will be tempting to look around the room at other introductions taking place nearby to break the sister's attention. Asking questions also shows that you are interested in their organization.
